Snug Harbor is a contemporary Adirondack style lodge that overlooks Lake Otsego.  Located on the west side of the lake, it is six and a half miles from the center of town, with easy access to Cooperstown’s Baseball Hall of Fame, the Farmer’s Museum, the Fenimore Museum, and the restaurants in town. 

It is also within minutes down the road from the Glimmerglass Festival and Hyde Hall.  It is 6.5 Miles from Cooperstown. Snug Harbor is 11.4 miles from Dreams Park.

Snug Harbor’s boat house and lake frontage is directly across the street from the main house.

As the sun sets, gather around the fire pit for s’mores or cocktails and conversation filled with laughter.  Let the best bartender among you hold forth as a mixologist at the full-service bar. Watch the game on a flat screen TV, play bridge or poker.  Then pick up a cue and challenge your friends to a game on the pool table with a fire in the fireplace.  From the wall of windows in the great room, watch the sun rise over Lake Otsego as breakfast is prepared on the Wolf range.  Should a question arise about what to watch on television, no problem.  Every room has a television except the great room.  There your friends and family can gather around the fireplace for conversation or play chess, backgammon, cards or board games at an elegant game table.  When it comes time for dinner, preside over a table that seats 14.  Snug Harbor is the perfect setting for making fond memories that will last a lifetime.

From the Farm to Your Table at Snug Harbor

When you visit Otsego County, you are nestled in farm country, in the heart of the dairy community where food is grown, beef is produced and chickens are free-range.  Take advantage of Cooperstown’s Farmer’s Market on Saturday.

Museums and the Glimmerglass Festival

Farmer’s Museum

Travel back in time to a village in the early nineteenth century.  There you will learn how life was lived in a simple farming community as guides in period dress explain printing, weaving, cooking, planting, animal husbandry, and other aspects of life in early America.  https://www.farmersmuseum.org/

Fenimore Art Museum

William Cooper settled Cooperstown. Hyde Hall

Snug Harbor was amazing

The house itself was extremely well kept and one of the cleanest VRBO's I've ever stayed in. The lake itself is picture perfect. Bring water shoes if you plan on swimming to avoid the Zebra Clams! The dock area, kayaks, were all great additions to the property as well. Would come back here in a heartbeat

This was a great choice for our stay in Cooperstown. The house was as nice as the description on line. The setting on the lake is amazing, a great choice if there are siblings on trip not playing baseball. The house functions great for shared families, the amenities in the house are really nice (upgraded kitchen and baths, very fun basement with pool table), and the lake setting is beautiful. The owner/manager is very helpful and accessible!

Absolutely beautiful property + lake

We rented Snug Harbor for a weekend and had a wonderful stay. The house is clean, comfortable and luxurious. It easily accommodated our large group of 12. I especially appreciated the large, well-stocked kitchen and the powerful gas stove- great for cooking! The showers and bathrooms were large and beautiful, I wish I had them in my own home. The downstairs bar area was a great place to hang out and the fire pit was a nice spot to gather at night. The lakefront access made our trip very special. Otsego lake is one of a kind in its beauty and serenity.

First time for our golf group renting a house after 20yrs of staying down the road at the cabins. The house lived up to the listing and even exceeded expectations. Beautiful spot overlooking the lake, amazing view and full of every amenity you could ask for. We had 8 of us and there was plenty of room and sleeping arrangements worked out fine. The house layout is great with plenty of space throughout. Don't hesitate to rent this house for your group, it's perfect. Hope to come back next year!

COVID-19

This new disease presents difficult challenges for homeowners, their cleaning crews, and guests.  First, it means that extra time must be spent to ensure that you arrive to a sanitized environment, free from whatever contamination the previous guests may have left.  All kitchen and bathroom surfaces will be sanitized with bleach anti-germ anti-viral wipes.  Dishes for 12 will be run through the dishwasher and left there for you to handle, fully sanitized.  Wood surfaces of the high-end furniture cannot be sanitized with wipes, nor can the carpets.  They will be dusted and oiled, as usual, and the leather furniture wiped down.  Then a hospital grade UV sanitizing light will be run to kill all ambient virus lurking in the room.  Pillows will be washed in bleach and hot water, in a dedicated load, in a private home, not in a laundromat.  All sheets and towels and bedspreads will be washed in hot water and detergent with fabric softener in dedicated loads in a private home.  The cleaner doing the wash will wear a mask and gloves.  Cleaners cleaning the house will wear masks and gloves.  All rooms will be sanitized with hospital grade UV lights.  There is also a UV air filter that you can move from room to room, for clean air wherever you are.  Surcharge for COVID-19 cleaning is $50.  Upon entering Snug Harbor, all will be asked to remove shoes or wear booties, which will be provided.
